Bortek is a research company employing scholars and engineers that conducts R & D on boron end products and materials science. Bortek processes boron minerals with a unique technology developed in house.BORONMAX contains nano-size artificial boron compounds particles that was developed as a result of research and laboratory studies for more than a decade. Boron compounds have a crystal structure on which atom layers can easily slide over each other. Atoms connect to each other forming covalent bonds. The layers on the other hand are connected by Van der Waals bonds. Atomic layers in nano size boron compound forms a film layer on metal thus provides lubrication.BORONMAX contains nano size boron compounds that are 100 nanometer in width, ie 1000 times smaller than a hair. Size of clearance between motors moving parts, such as between engine cylinder and piston varies between 3-5 micrometers. Nano particles within BORONMAX enter between these parts. Thus by coating metal surfaces create a layer that reduces friction. In 4-Ball Friction experiment according to ASTM D5183-05 was conducted at Istanbul Technical University, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering Faculty, it was found that BORONMAX reduces friction 14%.Reduction in friction on engine's moving parts reduces the energy lost to friction in engine. As a result fuel saving in vehicles is obtained. In an experiment conducted in Middle East Technical University, Mechanical Engineering Department on a new engine nearly 5% savings on fuel was observed. Friction causes wear on the engine with time. Fuel savings observed on an engine with wear is greater than an unused engine. BORONMAX 's optimum effect is observed after 5000 km. Decreased fuel consumption of vehicles for 5-10% in city roads and 10-20% in intercity roads was observed with BORONMAX oil additive.Nano size boron compounds in BORONMAX withstand temperatures up to 900C and have high thermal conduction. These properties prevents oil decay by dissipating heat quickly and increases oil life.
